Products, worked with Bill Berning, Jr. of Doc Dancer to convert the wood-burning fireplace in his own home to a gas insert.

“The project took two men just three hours from start to finish,” said Kaufman. “That included removing the old gas log set from the wood-burning fireplace, cleaning it out and installing the Ravenna™ Elite® Series Gas-Burning Insert with the cast pillar front.”

“The Ravenna insert has the capacity to deliver more than 30,000 BTUs of heat per hour into the home while cutting the natural gas used by Berning’s fireplace by more than 50 percent.”
“The process was simple and it’s a story I can now use with a great deal of enthusiasm and credibility with my customers,” said Berning. “Some people think inserts aren’t very attractive, but the detailing of the Ravenna works perfectly with our family room. It’s very much in keeping with our décor, so we’re pleased with that for sure.”

“For ease of installation, flame height and blower-powered convection, the Ravenna is a product that can’t be beat. And I have an easy, dependable, back-up source of heat in case of a power outage. Losing power can happen pretty often in a region that gets so much snow and ice during winter storms, so it’s an important feature,” added Berning.

The installation team took before-and-after pictures, in which the surround of the Ravenna
